Privacy Policy

This policy describes information collected during a visit, the reasons it is used, and the limited circumstances in which another party may receive it. By continuing to use Ford County Court Docket, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results; we do not keep or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email or contact submission may be retained to prepare and send a response. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads, including:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure traffic, popular pages, and visitor navigation. Analytics providers aggregate that usage information. Browser controls can block cookies, although disabling them may change how certain site features work.

What We Do With This Data

  • Operate, maintain, and improve site performance
  • Route a search request to the selected outside provider
  • Measure which resources visitors use
  • Diagnose security or technical faults
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Court-Record Data on File

Ford County Court Docket does not host, sell, maintain, or compile a database of dockets or personal case records. It identifies official routes such as Kansas CaseSearch, Ford County District Court, and the Clerk of the District Court. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party case profiles.

Third-Party Search Partners

Independent companies supply the search boxes on some pages. Their privacy policies, retention periods, and disclosure practices govern information submitted there. Review the applicable provider policy before entering a query because we do not control those terms.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Kansas courts, the Ford district clerk, legal-aid resources, public portals, or private services. Once an external page opens, that operator's privacy rules apply. Read them before providing personal information.

Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select targeted advertisements.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Data may nevertheless be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect collected data. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as a minor's will be deleted when properly brought to our attention.

Your Data Rights

Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights beyond those listed here. The Kansas Open Records Act, K.S.A. 45-215 et seq., concerns access to government records, while Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22 governs electronic access to court records; neither turns this private site's visitor data into a government court record. At a minimum, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. Any replacement will be posted here and marked with its new effective date, so visitors can review the current data practices.

Effective date: August 24, 2026
